Tonight’s baseball action features some of the best pitchers in the game. Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Justin Verlander and Jacob deGrom will pitch beneath the lights. Kershaw is a heavy favorite against the little-known Cole Irvin. The battle between Greinke and deGrom in Arizona might not yield many runs yet it will certainly entertain those who appreciate the art of pitching.

Toronto Blue Jays (Marcus Stroman +128) at Colorado Rockies (Jon Gray -157) (O/U 11)

Marcus Stroman is the Jays’ ace yet he is available as a free agent in many fantasy baseball leagues. The Jays’ young lineup has not provided much run support for starting pitchers until the past couple weeks following a series of call-ups. The Jays’ young mashers will face Jon Gray. Gray’s numbers are unimpressive but for his strikeouts-to-innings-pitched ratio. Bettors should give serious consideration to the Jays’ moneyline and run line. Sugarhouse’s +1.5 run line on the Jays at -141 is especially tempting.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays run line +1.5 (-141)

Houston Astros (Justin Verlander -162) at Oakland Athletics (Brett Anderson +143) (O/U 8)

In what looks to be an epic battle between two of the game’s better pitchers, the Astros will visit the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum for an evening tilt. Take a look at Justin Verlander’s numbers and you will be tempted to bet the house on the Astros. However, Brett Anderson’s sub-4 ERA and 1.37 WHIP should give bettors pause. The A’s just might pull this one out on a Saturday night at home against a bruised and battered Astros squad.

Pick: Oakland A’s run line +1.5 (-118)

New York Mets (Jacob deGrom-112) at Arizona Diamondbacks (Zack Greinke-108) (O/U 7.5)

Arizona fans will be treated to an epic tilt this evening between two of the game’s premier pitchers. Look for Greinke and deGrom to shut down the opposing offenses. The question is which lineup will be able to get a few runs across the plate. This should be a low-scoring matchup decided by a run or two. Sugarhouse has the over/under at a mere 7.5 runs. If you are eager to get in on the action, take the under and fade the Mets’ subpar lineup.

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks moneyline (-108) and Under 7.5 runs

Philadelphia Phillies (Cole Irvin +170) at Los Angeles Dodgers (Clayton Kershaw -200) (O/U 8.5)

Phillies’ lefthander Cole Irvin will make his fourth career start this evening against the blazing hot Dodgers’ lineup. Irvin allowed seven earned runs in his last outing, an 8-4 loss against the Chicago Cubs. However, he silenced the Royals in his first career start, letting in a single earned run across seven frames. Clayton Kershaw served up 10 hits against the Mets the last time he took the hill. Though Kershaw is 5-0, his ERA and WHIP are well above his career average. The fact that Sugarhouse’s payout on the Phillies moneyline is a mere +170 should raise some eyebrows in the gambling community. It looks like the house expects the lefty Irvin to keep the Dodgers’ lineup in check.

Pick: Phillies run line +1.5 (-118)
