Daily PA Online Sportsbooks MLB Betting Odds & Analysis – 06/02/2019

Baseball fans and bettors will be treated to some intriguing matchups this evening as long as the weather cooperates. The Angels look to continue their winning ways against the struggling Mariners. The A’s Chris Bassitt will take on the ‘Stros Gerrit Cole in what will likely be a low-scoring yet entertaining affair. Let’s take a closer look at this evening’s action.

Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners (O/U 9.5)

Moneyline Odds
Los Angeles Angels -107
Seattle Mariners -107

This is a big day for the Angels’ Jose Suarez. Ranked as a top-100 MLB prospect, Suarez will make his major league debut against the Mariners. Suarez posted a combined ERA of 3.92 across the three minor league levels. Suarez has averaged more than a strikeout per inning in the minors. Unfortunately, he will take the hill against a solid Mariners lineup. Sugarhouse has Suarez and the Angels at just about even money for tonight’s tilt.

Marco Gonzalez, a left-hander from Gonzaga, will attempt to silence the Angels’ bats as he did in his first matchup against the Halos. Gonzales seems to struggle the second time around, as evidenced by his latest dismal outing against the Rangers. Gonzales’ last two starts were against Texas; these outings could not have been more different. The lefty allowed a single run only in his first outing against the Rangers only to surrender six earned runs the next time around. This evening’s matchup against the Angels could get ugly as the Halos have seen Gonzalez’s stuff earlier this year.

Pick: Over 9.5 And Angels moneyline -107

Houston Astros at Oakland A’s (O/U 7.5)

Moneyline Odds
Houston Astros -134
Chris Bassitt +117

Fantasy baseball players and gamblers alike are more than excited about Chris Bassitt. The 30-year-old has posted a 3.27 ERA along with a 1.14 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 41 innings. Bassitt has only started 37 games in the majors, partially because he didn’t reach the big leagues until the age of 26. Baseball bettors should overlook the fact that Bassit allowed five earned runs against the Angels in his last outing. The Angels’ lineup rocks just about every pitcher.

Pick: A’s run line (+1.5 @-143) and Under 7.5

New York Mets at Arizona Diamondbacks (O/U 9.5)

Moneyline Odds
New York Mets +100
Arizona Diamondbacks -114

Take a look at these two pitchers’ numbers and you will be inclined to wager on Matz and the Mets. However, the Diamondbacks’ Adam Jones, Eduardo Escobar and Jarrod Dyson will pose their fair share of problems. The Mets put up four runs in four innings against Zack Greinke last night yet they have not yet faced Merrill Kelly’s repertoire of pitches. The right-hander from Scottsdale has less-than-stellar numbers. However, the Mets’ lineup is not exactly intimidating.

Pick: Over 9.5 and Diamondbacks run line (+1.5 @ -186)

Miami Marlins at San Diego Padres (O/U 7.5)

Moneyline Odds
Miami Marlins +170
San Diego Padres -195

The Marlins’ Trevor Richards has solid numbers, posting a 3.82 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP along with 55 Ks in 61 innings. Richards allowed five total runs in his last three outings combined. Though the fish are 20-36, they have a shot to beat the Friars this evening. Matt Strahm takes the hill for San Diego. The West Fargo, ND native has some eye-popping numbers to say the least. The Marlins’ right-handed-heavy lineup should be able to take Strahm deep at least a couple times.

Pick: Over 7.5
