The Seahawks visit the Eagles this weekend in what could be a NFC playoff preview. Philly is one game behind Dallas in the race for the NFC East division crown. The Eagles lost to the Patriots 17-10 last weekend in one of the more boring games of the season. The Seahawks are fresh off the bye week after upsetting the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Let’s take a look at how this week’s Eagles game is likley to shake out.
Spread Eagles -1.5
Your eyes are not deceiving you. The Eagles are 1.5 point favorites as this is a home matchup against a Seattle squad with an overrated defense. However, as evidenced by Seattle’s upset of the 49ers a couple weeks ago, the Seahawks are the better team of the two. Furthermore, Seattle is coming off a bye week so they will be fresh and ready to go. It is quite concerning that the Eagles struggled against a Patriots team that appears to be a shadow of its former self.
Pick: Seattle +1.5
FanDuel has the over/under listed at 47.5 for this game as both teams have solid quarterbacks and questionable defenses. If Jordan Howard cannot suit up for the Eagles, the over/under line will likely drop even lower prior to game time. Philly’s defense is superior to the Seahawks defense yet the Seahawks are much more talented on the offensive side of the ball. Look for Seattle to score 23 or more points while the Eagles will likely score 17-24 on Seattle.
Pick: Under 47.5
Seattle is well-rested, fairly healthy and more than capable of putting up a crooked number in this road game. Though the Eagles defense is solid, to say Philly’s offense is sluggish would be an understatement. Seattle should reach 10 points well ahead of the Eagles. After all, the Eagles could barely muster 10 points last week in an entire game against the Patriots.
Pick: Seattle race to 10 points -104
