If you are a bettor, tonight’s baseball action should have you salivating. As long as mother nature cooperates, Pennsylvanian bettors will find plenty of matchups worth wagering on. The Padres and Rockies will go head-to-head in what has turned out to be the most entertaining series of the season. The Cubs/Dodgers matchup is highlighted by two of the game’s best pitchers. Here’s a quick look at the best baseball bets for this Sunday, June 16th.
San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies (O/U 13)
|San Diego Padres||+132|
Sugarhouse has the over/under for this matchup at 13 as both squads have been raking of late. The Rockies’ right-handed bats should have no problem taking lefty Nick Margevicius deep at least a few times. After all, Margevicius allowed two home runs against the Rockies the last time he faced them. Though the Rockies’ Peter Lambert has only pitched a total of 12 innings in the big leagues, his numbers are solid and the Friars have yet to see his stuff.
Pick: Colorado Moneyline -150
Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants (O/U 8.5)
|San Francisco Giants||+125|
To the surprise of most baseball bettors, the Brewers have lost two straight games to the Giants. However, Chase Anderson will take the hill for the Brew Crew in what will likely end up as a Milwaukee victory. Do not be deceived by the fact that Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija has only allowed four earned runs in his last two starts. The veteran righty has not made it beyond six innings in a single start this season.
Pick: Brewers Moneyline -143
Seattle Mariners at Oakland A’s (O/U 9.5)
The Mariners traded Edwin Encarnacion to the Yankees last night for a minor league pitcher and cash. It is clear the M’s are giving up on the season after a blazing hot start. Sugarhouse has the diminutive Mike Leake as a slight underdog against Tanner Anderson and the A’s. Leake allowed one earned run in his first matchup with the A’s only to surrender five earned runs when the two teams squared off again in late May. If you absolutely insist on putting some dollars down on this game, a small wager on the under and the A’s moneyline are likely your best bets.
Pick: A’s Moneyline -148 and under 9.5 +100
Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers (O/U 8)
|Los Angeles Dodgers||-175|
A surprising number of fantasy baseball players dropped Jose Quintana from their rosters after a rough start to the season. Quintana has rebounded quite nicely. The Dodgers’ Hyun-Jin Ryu has allowed a grand total of eight earned runs in his last ten starts. Ryu is due for a meltdown. The Cubs have the bats to burn him.
Pick: Cubs run line +1.5 -134
