It looks like mother nature will be somewhat cooperative this evening, especially for baseball fans in the northeast. Cleveland plays host to the first place Yankees. Sugarhouse has the Brew Crew as a heavy favorite against the Pirates. Homer Bailey and the Royals will face Ivan Nova and the White Sox in a battle of the has-beens. Though many of tonight’s pitchers have pitiful numbers, baseball gamblers will find plenty of opportunities to make some coin. Let’s take a quick look at four of the evening’s most intriguing matchups.
New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians (O/U 9)
|New York Yankees||-120|
Domingo German has been quite the pleasant surprise for the Bronx Bombers. Sugarhouse has German as a slight favorite against the Indians’ Zach Plesac. The Yankees’ star shortstop Didi Gregorious returns this evening after an extended absence due to Tommy John surgery. Gregorious will likely serve as the designated hitter for a few weeks as he is eased back into action. The Yankees should roll in this one.
Pick: Yankees moneyline -120
Washington Nationals at San Diego Padres (O/U 8.5)
|San Diego Padres||-114|
If you are unfamiliar with the work of Erick Fedde and Nick Margevicius, you are not alone. Even hardcore fantasy baseball players do not know much about these two pitchers. Sugarhouse has this matchup right around even money for both sides. It is hard to argue against rolling with the Friars’ at home at the end of the work week.
Pick: Padres moneyline -114
Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers (O/U 9.5)
Rookie Davis takes the hill for the Pirates. Rookie has performed up to his namesake so far this season, posting a putrid 5.87 ERA along with a 1.43 WHIP. Brandon Woodruff has dazzled in the majority of his outings yet gamblers have to question whether Sugarhouse’s moneyline on the Brewers is worth the juice. Woodruff seems to have every lineup mastered but for the Pirates. However, the fact that this is a Friday night affair at home bodes well for the Crew.
Pick: Brewers run line (-120)
