It looks like the baseball Gods will cooperate this Saturday, June 8. Clear skies abound, setting the stage for an entertaining slate of games. Baseball fans and gamblers will be treated to an absolute gem between the Nationals and the Padres. Max Scherzer will take the hill against the upstart Friars’ Eric Lauer in what will likely be a pitchers’ duel.

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants (O/U 8.5)

Team Moneyline Odds
Los Angeles Dodgers -230
San Francisco Giants +200

At this point in his career, Jeff Smardzija is likely regretting his decision to throw baseballs instead of catch footballs. The once-great Notre Dame wide receiver is well-paid yet his on-the-mound performance leaves much to be desired. The Dodgers’ left-handed power hitters should put up at least half a dozen runs against the lowly Giants.

Pick: Over 9.5

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs (O/U 7.5)

Team Moneyline Odds
St. Louis Cardinals -114
Chicago Cubs +100

Sugarhouse has Jon Lester’s Cubs at even money against the Cardinals this evening at Wrigley. The Cubs beat the Cardinals 4-0 the last time they squared off against Flaherty. The righty from Burbank, CA has a sub-4 ERA, 73 strikeouts in 64.2 innings and a superb 1.14 WHIP. The Cubs should prevail in this Saturday evening tilt at home.

Pick: Cubs moneyline +100

Oakland A’s at Texas Rangers (O/U 10.5)

Team Moneyline Odds
Oakland A’s -127
Texas Rangers +112

Chris Bassitt will face a surprisingly potent Rangers lineup led by Joey Gallo, Hunter Pence and Shin-Soo Choo. Though Bassitt has impressed thus far in the 2019 campaign, tonight’s affair in Arlington could get ugly. The Rangers’ Adrian Sampson blanked the A’s across three frames in his last outing. The righty was masterful last Friday evening against a halfway-decent Royals lineup so it is awfully difficult to fade the 32-29 Rangers in a home matchup against on a Saturday night.

Pick: Under 10.5

Washington Nationals at San Diego Padres (O/U 7.5)

Team Moneyline Odds
Washington Nationals -167
San Diego Padres +148

A mere 24% of Yahoo Fantasy baseball owners start the Pads’ Eric Lauer. This lefty made it through 5.2 innings in his last matchup with the Nationals. He allowed a mere two earned runs and walked three batters while striking out six. Though Sugarhouse has the over/under set at a mere 7.5 runs, it will be difficult for these two squads to put up a crooked number as long as the starters remain on the hill.

Pick: Under 7.5
