This evening’s slate is chock full of superb matchups featuring some of the best arms in the game. Though some truly elite pitchers will take the mound this evening, there is no guarantee the games will be low-scoring. So don’t be so quick to place your wagers on the unders this evening. Managers and batters alike might put forth a little extra effort to put on a show for the fans. After all, this is a Saturday night and baseball is all about entertainment. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at what is likely to transpire on the diamond this evening.
San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers O/U 8.5
Team | Moneyline Odds |
---|---|
San Diego Padres | +220 |
Los Angeles Dodgers | -278 |
Parx has Walker Buehler as a gigantic favorite this evening. Cal Quantrill will pitch for the Padres. Quantrill’s ERA is nearly the same as Buehler’s. However, Quantrill worked out of the bullpen for the second half of June. Though Quantrill made it through 5.1 innings his last time out, he walked four while throwing a mere 86 pitches. Both teams should be able to put up four to five runs each, sending this one over 8.5.
Pick: Over 8.5
St. Louis Cardinals at Oakland A’s O/U 9
Team | Moneyline Odds |
---|---|
St. Louis Cardinals | +130 |
Oakland A’s | -159 |
Dakota Hudson and Mike Fiers have excellent numbers. Hudson is 10-5 with a 3.88 ERA while Fiers has a 3.54 ERA along with a 1.14 WHIP. Both teams are well above the .500 mark. It is certainly concerning that Hudson allowed three long balls and five earned runs in his last start, a 4-inning outing. Fiers has been fantastic for the past two months. One would think Fiers would be due for a letdown yet the Cardinals’ bats are rather weak.
Pick: Under 9
New York Mets at Pittsburgh Pirates O/U 9
Team | Moneyline Odds |
---|---|
New York Mets | -122 |
Pittsburgh Pirates | +102 |
Marcus Stroman will make his debut for the Mets this evening. Unfortunately, the Mets batters will be up against Chris Archer. Archer has had some solid outings since imploding earlier in the season. Parx has Stroman listed as a slight favorite yet this game is in Pittsburgh on a Saturday evening. However, the Mets seem to have renewed hope for the season.
Pick: Mets moneyline -122
San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies O/U 11.5
Team | Moneyline Odds |
---|---|
San Francisco Giants | +100 |
Colorado Rockies | -124 |
Jon Gray is somewhat of an enigma. As soon as Gray puts together a few solid outings, he gets blown up for seven or eight runs. Madison Bumgarner has not had his best season in San Francisco yet Parx has him listed right around even money for tonight’s matchup with the Rockies. The Rawks have the bats to hit a lefty like Bumgarner. Gray should be able to keep the Giants’ bats in check.
Pick: Rockies moneyline -134
