MLB Daily Betting Odds & Analysis | PA Online Sportsbooks 8/6/2019

Baseball bettors in PA can be quite picky tonight as there are plenty of games on the schedule. The skidding Brewers visit the Pirates while the dominant Dodgers host the Cards. Parx has Zack Plesac and the Indians as gigantic favorites against the Rangers. Let’s take a look at whether the heavy favorites will prevail or if upsets are in the works.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates O/U 10

Team Moneyline Odds
Milwaukee Brewers -159
Pittsburgh Pirates +132

Chase Anderson and Steven Brault…who are these guys? Parx has Anderson and the Brew Crew listed as favorites even though Milwaukee has fallen to 58-56. Anderson has decent numbers: a sub-4 ERA along with a 1.20 WHIP. Brault is returning from the IL. The lefty from La Mesa, CA is averaging less than a strikeout per inning and has a horrid 1.57 WHIP. This should be a fairly easy win for the Brewers.

Pick: Brewers moneyline -159

Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Rays O/U 8.5

Team Moneyline Odds
Toronto Blue Jays +163
Tampa Bay Rays -200

The Blue Jays have had a disappointing 2019 campaign to say the least. Trent Thornton will take the hill tonight. Thornton made it through six innings in his last outing, allowing merely one earned run. However, this start was against the lowly Orioles. Andrew Kittredge will take the hill for the Rays. Kittredge has good stats yet he has pitched merely 25 innings this season. The question is whether Kittredge will pitch for more than a few innings.

Pick: Over 8.5

St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers O/U 8.5

Team Moneyline Odds
St. Louis Cardinals +160
Los Angeles Dodgers -195

Parx has Clayton Kershaw right around his usual gambling line of -200. Kershaw has not allowed more than three earned runs in a start since late June when he faced the Rockies. Though it can be argued Kershaw is due for a meltdown, it probably will not come against the Cardinals’ weak bats. After all, the Cards failed to put up a single run last night against the Dodgers. Miles Mikolas is coming off of a 5.2-inning shutout performance against the Cubs. Even if Mikolas can keep the Dodgers to a handful of runs, the Cardinals will still likely lose this game.

Pick: Dodgers moneyline -195

Texas Rangers at Cleveland Indians O/U 10.5

Team Moneyline Odds
Texas Rangers +163
Cleveland Indians -200

Zack Plesac has impressed in the little time he has spent in the majors. As a result, Parx has Plesac listed as a -200 favorite against the Rangers. All in all, Plesac has pitched 66 innings this season, striking out a mere 47 yet he has posted a 3.41 ERA along with an impressive 1.25 WHIP. Ariel Jurado will pitch for the Rangers. Jurado has not fared well in his past four starts, allowing a total of 16 runs across 20 innings. The Indians should roll tonight.

Pick: Indians moneyline -200
