Baseball bettors do not have much to pick from this evening. With few games on the schedule, it will be a bit more challenging to make money from the action on the diamond. Thankfully, Parx does not have any gigantic favorites listed for this evening so it is possible to make some decent coin rolling with the moneylines regardless of whether you pick the favorite or the underdog. Here is a quick look at what is likely to occur on tonight.
Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels O/U 9.5
|Chicago White Sox||+160|
|Los Angeles Angels||-195|
There is no shame in not knowing who Dylan Cease and Griffin Canning are. After all, Cease is owned in merely 17% of Yahoo Fantasy baseball leagues while Canning is owned in 27%. However, Parx has the over/under for this matchup listed at 9.5, assuming it will be fairly low-scoring. Cease has an era of 5.54 along with a 1.56 WHIP. Canning has a 4.86 ERA along with a 1.25 WHIP. In other words, these pitchers are not good. However, Cease has allowed two earned runs in each of his last two starts so there is hope for the young righty from Milton, GA. This one should go over.
Pick: Over 9.5
Houston Astros at Oakland A’s O/U 9.5
Brett Anderson has had a solid season yet he will face an Astros lineup this evening that is difficult to master. As a result, Parx has Anderson’s A’s as sizable dogs. The question is whether Zack Greinke can continue his mastery of AL lineups in his third outing with the Astros. Greinke should be able to hold the A’s to a couple runs. Anderson is capable of keeping the Astros in check so this game is likely to go under.
Pick: Under 9.5
San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks O/U 9
|San Francisco Giants||-115|
Parx has the over/under for tonight’s matchup between the Giants and Diamondbacks set at 9 as the resurgent Madison Bumgarner will take the hill. Though Bumgarner can likely hold Arizona to three or four runs, there is a question as to whether Merrill Kelly can do the same against the Giants. Kelly allowed six earned runs in his last outing. The righty from Arizona State let in a total of five earned runs across his past two starts against San Francisco. However, the Giants appear to be legit playoff contenders while it appears as though the snakes are fading. Roll with the Giants tonight.
Pick: Giants moneyline
Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates O/U 10
Jose Quintana is an absolute strikeout machine. Quintana fanned 14 batters the last time he took the hill. Quintana will pitch against the Pirates this evening. The Pirates scored a total of six earned runs in the past 13 innings against Quintana. Though the Pirates have had some success against the Cubs’ ace, there is a problem: Mitch Keller will pitch for Pittsburgh tonight. Keller fared well in his last outing, a 10-2 win against the Angels yet he has an ERA around eight and a 2.00 WHIP. The Cubs should not have a problem putting up a crooked number in at least one inning against Keller.
Pick: Cubs moneyline and run line -1.5 (+100)
