Today is the last day of the MLB season. There is plenty at stake for the Cardinals and Brewers. If the Brewers win, they will force a one game playoff with the Cardinals for the NL Central title. Aside from the Brewers/Cardinals, there are several other juicy matchups for baseball gamblers to pick from. Below, we delve into the best bets for the final day of the regular season.

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies O/U

Brewers pitcher Adrian Houser allowed one earned run in five straight games last month. The 6’4″, 235 pound pitcher has not been as sharp since that stretch of games. Houser has been pitching three to four innings per game in his September starts. All in all, Houser’s ERA is 3.86, his whip is 1.27 and he has a fairly impressive 112 Ks over 107.1 innings. Rockies pitcher Jeff Hoffman has not pitched beyond the sixth inning this entire season. Hoffman is dealing with a right knee contusion. Look for the Brew Crew to get out to an early lead and knock Hoffman out by the fourth inning. However, Lorenzo Cain will likely be out for this game with a sprained ankle so there is a good chance Milwaukee squeak out a win by merely a run or two.

Pick: Brewers moneyline

Chicago Cubs at St. Louis Cardinals

The Cubs will send Derek Holland to the hill in hopes of upsetting the Cardinals and forcing a one game playoff to decide the NL Central division crown. Holland typically pitches an inning in relief when summoned to the hill so he will likely give way to a bullpen arm fairly early in this matchup. Though Holland showed some potential when he was a Texas Ranger, his time in the big leagues might be limited. Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty allowed one earned run across eight innings the last time he faced the Cubs. Flaherty has a 2.85 ERA and a sub-1 ERA. The righty from Burbank, CA has racked up 225 Ks in 189.1 innings. However, the Cardinals are struggling so gamblers should tread lightly.

Pick: Cubs moneyline

Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals O/U 11

Team Moneyline
Minnesota Twins -186
Kansas City Royals +158

FanDuel has this game’s over/under set at 11 runs even though the Twins are likely to rest some of their best hitters prior to the playoffs. Twins pitcher Martin Perez should be able to keep the Royals lefties in check yet his numbers are quite disappointing in the second half of the season. It must be noted Perez allowed five earned runs in each of his last couple appearances against Kansas City. Royals pitcher Jorge Lopez allowed seven earned runs the last time he faced the Twins. This is a home game for Kansas City so the Royals will likely go all out to win one for the supportive fans as it is the last game of the season.

Pick: Royals moneyline +158

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets O/U 8

Team Moneyline
Atlanta Braves -108
New York Mets -108

FanDuel has this game listed as a “pick’em” even though the Braves might rest some of their starters. Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard allowed four earned runs in each of his last four starts. Braves pitcher Mike Soroka will finish the season with career-bests in terms of ERA and WHIP. However, the Braves have nothing to play for while the Mets will try to win this game as an uplifting segue into the 2020 campaign.

Pick: Mets moneyline -108
