With only about 25 days to go in baseball’s regular season, there is still plenty of money to be made. Though Parx has some heavy favorites on the board this evening, savvy gamblers will consider wagering on the run lines and over/under run totals. Below, we analyze four of this evening’s matchups to help baseball bettors make a bundle of cash.
San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals O/U 8.5
Team | Moneyline |
---|---|
San Francisco Giants | +104 |
St. Louis Cardinals | -125 |
Madison Bumgarner has allowed a combined total of eight runs across his past five starts. The monster lefty will face a slightly above average Cardinals lineup this evening. The Cardinals are 77-60 but often struggle to score more than two or three runs in a game. Michael Wacha has a 5.07 ERA along with a 1.55 WHIP. Though these are not spectacular numbers, Wacha has allowed a mere seven earned runs across his past four starts. However, Wacha has not been pitching deep into games, often getting pulled after four innings of work.
Pick: Under 8.5
Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals O/U 10
Team | Moneyline |
---|---|
Detroit Tigers | +165 |
Kansas City Royals | -205 |
Edwin Jackson’s ERA is nearly 10. Jackson’s WHIP is approaching 2.00. The veteran righty allowed six earned runs in each of his last starts, both of which were losses to the Twins. Royals pitcher Jakob Junis has an ERA approaching five. Junis allowed two earned runs the last time he faced the Tigers. The Royals should roll tonight.
Pick: Royals moneyline and run line -1.5 -109
San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks O/U 8
Team | Moneyline |
---|---|
San Diego Padres | +108 |
Arizona Diamondbacks | -132 |
Chris Paddack and Zac Gallen are solid young pitchers. Paddack finally settled down in his last outing, a 7-inning effort against the Giants. Gallen has fantastic numbers: a 2.79 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and a stunning 74 Ks across a mere 61.1 innings.
Pick: Under and Padres moneyline
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers O/U 9.5
Team | Moneyline |
---|---|
Colorado Rockies | +250 |
Los Angeles Dodgers | -315 |
Parx has the Dodgers listed as a gigantic favorite tonight as the seemingly unhittable Hyun-Jin Ryu will pitch. Antonio Senzatela will toss for the Rockies in what looks like quite the mismatch on paper. However, Ryu has allowed 18 earned runs in three starts. Senzatela has been equally bad. Neither of these pitchers can be trusted until they prove otherwise. This one should go over.
Pick: Over 9.5
