U.S. Open 2019 Favorites
Dustin Johnson, who was one of the favorites coming into the season, shot a two under par 69 on Friday. He shot an even par 71 on Thursday, so he is sitting at two under par for the tournament. This puts him seven shots back of the leader going into the weekend, Gary Woodland at nine under par. This may sound like a huge deficit, but DJ is known for going low and he has two rounds to make up ground on the leaders. SugarHouse puts his odds to win the tournament at +2000.
Rory continued his excellent start to the 2019 U.S. Open by shooting a two under par 69 on Friday. After a three under par 68 on Thursday and his round on Friday, Rory finds himself at five under par the tournament, four shots back of the lead. Despite the four shot gap, SugarHouse currently has him as the favorite to win the tournament at odds of +400.
U.S. Open 2019 Underdogs
Tony Finau shot a one over par 72 on Friday, leaving him four over par for the tournament. He missed the cut after a very disappointing performance.
Phil improved on his one over par 72 on Thursday by shooting a two under par 69 on Friday. He is now at one under overall, a daunting eight shots back of the lead. However, he’s still in with a chance on Sunday if he can go low on Saturday. Mickelson is more than capable of doing so, even at the age of 48. SugarHouse puts his odds of reaching the winner’s circle this Sunday at +6600.
